Dance Attack! Has Programs For All Ages
Dance Attack! Performing Arts provides quality dance instruction for students of all ages, ranging from toddlers to adults. With two convenient locations, we are proud to provide dance classes in Sunnyvale, CA and Los Gatos, CA. We offer instruction in a variety of disciplines including Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Modern, Tap, Contemporary, and Latin Jazz. The large size of our school allows us to not only match the strengths of our students with our dance teachers, but also accommodate students with special needs, including developmentally disabled teens and adults and individuals in wheelchairs.
Dance Attack has been voted the “Best of the Best” by Bay Area Parent for dance classes in Sunnyvale, CA and Los Gatos, CA and is proud to offer beginning classes for students of all ages, in addition to our performing companies and competition teams.
Our Preschool program offers a creative movement class that introduces students to Tap, Jazz, and Ballet in one class, or sometimes Tap, Jazz, and Hip Hop. Our goal is to help children develop balance, rhythm, dance fundamentals and a love of music and dance. The program is offered weekday mornings, afternoons, and Saturday mornings. Students must be 2 1/2 years old to attend the 2-3 class, 3 1/2 years old to attend the 3-4 class, and 4 1/2 years old to attend the 4-6 class.
We are proud to offer Combination classes that include ballet, tap, jazz, and sometimes hip hop for children age 5 ½ to 7 years old. For students ages 6 and up, we offer separate subject classes in ballet, jazz, tap, musical theater, acro, Latin jazz, and hip hop.
Dance Attack is proud to offer classes for students with special needs as a fully inclusive program, and we are dedicated to work with families to help ensure every dancer is able to participate. To that end, dancers who receive very specific accommodations at school or the workplace may be best suited to study dance in our program for dancers with special needs. This helps us to be sure our teachers are able to match the education plan you have in place to help maintain consistency across learning platforms. Our 2019-2020 Los Gatos classes for students with special needs are on Wednesdays, 5:30 for students 7-15, and 6:30 pm for adults.
Whether you are new to dance or want to continue studying dance, we are proud to offer a complete program for older teens and adults. This includes Ballet, Tap, Latin Jazz, and Hip Hop classes for adults, and beginning Jazz, Contemporary, Tap, and Hip Hop for teens and preteens who haven’t had any previous dance training. Email the studio at email@example.com (hyperlinked) if you would like help finding the perfect class. Come dance with us!

Open Track All of the above is what we call Open Track. Many dancers are involved in other sports, music or theater activities. We offer a full program for these dancers who want to continue enjoying dance on a once or twice a week program. Dancers 6 and up can choose classes in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Musical Theater, and Latin Jazz, and teen dancers can also try Modern or Contemporary.

This is an invitational program for 5 – 6 year olds. Students attend 2 ½ to 3 ½ hours of class per week, learn a competition dance routine, perform at community events with our other students, attend a dance convention, and in the Spring they compete the routine that they learned. It’s a fantastic exposure to a higher level of commitment to dance, and the group has a great time together in classes and at competition.
Our Performing Company Has 3 Tracks
Our performing company is a group that performs at community events and participates in top dance competitions and conventions. We have an outstanding team, with many national scholarship finalists and national convention company members. If your dancer has a passion for dance and competition, the Performing Company may be for you.
Training Track is focused mostly on enhancing their training for the first time, for ages 5-11
-This group includes the invitation-only Sunnyvale Minis and Los Gatos Prep Squad.
-The Training Track is for dancers who have not yet had the training for our advanced competition level, but would like to learn more and have some exposure to competition dance.
-This group attends 1 convention to experience the classes, and 1 or 2 competition-only events where they are entered as novice or intermediate.
-They have 4 required technique classes per week (2 Ballet, 1 Tap, 1 Jazz), 1 or 2 routine rehearsals per week, and choose an included 5th class like Hip Hop or Musical Theater.
-They may participate in community performances.
-They perform in the Big Show, during a Big Show year, and the Ice Cream Concert during non-show years.
-They are asked to attend the Performing Company Showcase as audience members. (Minis/Prep Squad would perform.)
-Except for Minis/Prep Squad (invitation only), all dancers interested in the training or competition track must attend the annual audition held in April.
Competition Track is focused on training and competition, for ages 6-18
-Our competition dancers attend 3-4 mandatory conventions and 1 or 2 competition-only events.
-They take 5 to 15 hours of dance a week, depending on how many styles of dance they are learning and how many routines they have learned for competition.
-They participate in community performances such as the Mountain View Art and Wine Festival, the Almaden Art and Wine Festival, the Los Gatos Childrens’ Christmas Parade, Christmas on the Row, and St. Mary’s Country Fair.
-Official performances include the Performing Company Spring Showcase, and at the Big Show (during a Big Show year).
-All dancers interested in competing must attend the spring auditions. If it is their first time auditioning, we also recommend the Audition Class in March, to do a “practice audition” and learn what a dance audition is like.
Pre-professional Track is focused on advanced training and college prep, for ages 15-18
-This level is intended for advanced members who are going to be Juniors and Seniors in High School, and provides additional training, but fewer weekend conventions and competition. These dancers do learn an all-team production number with the competition track, but have additional routines that are not learned for competition, but rather for performance and concert training.
-Official performances include the Performing Company Spring Showcase and at the Big Show, during a Big Show year.
