School Age
Dance Essentials 1 and 2 (formerly Combo 5.5-7.5 and 6-8) are combo classes designed to continue a student’s training in Tap and Jazz technique in preparation for hour long single subject classes. The 5.5 – 6.5 and 6 – 8 classes include tap, ballet, and jazz technique. These classes move at an accelerated pace and provides adequate training for students interested in auditioning for Performing Company. We recommend students take Ballet 1a in conjunction with this class
Students ages 6 and up may join our 1 hour classes in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Musical theater, Latin jazz, and Hip Hop. Once a student has taken 2 years of Ballet or Jazz, they can also add classes like Lyrical, Contemporary, and Modern dance.
Adaptive Dance
Dance Attack is proud to offer classes for students with special needs as a fully inclusive program, and we are dedicated to work with families to help ensure every dancer is able to participate. To that end, dancers who receive very specific accommodations at school or the workplace may be best suited to study dance in our adaptive program for dancers with special needs. This helps us to be sure our teachers are able to match the education plan you have in place to help maintain consistency across learning platforms. Our 2021-2022 Los Gatos classes for students with special needs are on Thursdays at 5:45 for ages 7-15, and 6:45 pm for adults.
Teen/Adult
Whether you are new to dance or continuing your studies, we are proud to offer classes for older teens and adults. This includes Ballet classes for adults, and beginning Jazz, Contemporary, Tap, and Hip Hop for teens and preteens who haven’t had any previous dance training. Email the studio at info@danceattack.com if you would like help finding the perfect class. Come dance with us!

Open Track
All of the above is what we call Open Track. Many dancers are involved in other sports, music or theater activities. We offer a full program for these dancers who want to continue enjoying dance on a once or twice a week program. Dancers 6 and up can choose classes in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Musical Theater, and Latin Jazz, and teen dancers can also try Modern or Contemporary. Additionally, juniors and teens who are high intermediate or advanced are welcome to take the more advanced Contemporary, Hip Hop, and Heels classes with teacher approval.

Prep Squad(LG)/Mini Squad(SV)
In addition to our audition-based advanced team, Dance Attack! offers a special invitational competitive program for our littles who love to perform! Students age 4.5 to 6 attend 2 ½ to 3 ½ hours of class per week, learn a competition dance routine, perform at community events with our other students, attend a dance convention, and in the Spring they compete the routine that they learned. It’s a fantastic exposure to a higher level of commitment to dance, and the group has a great time together in classes and at competition.
Our Performing Company Has 3 Tracks
The Performing Company performs at community events and participates in top dance competitions and conventions. We have an outstanding team, with many national scholarship finalists and national convention company members. If your dancer has a passion for dance and competition, the Performing Company may be for you.
Training Track:
- Includes the invitation-only Sunnyvale Mini Squad and Los Gatos Prep Squad.
- Is for dancers who are newer to dance training, but would like to learn more and begin to try competition dance.
- Attends 1 convention to experience the classes, and 1 or 2 competition-only events as novice or intermediate dancers.
- Has 4 required technique classes per week (2 Ballet, 1 Tap, 1 Jazz), 1 or 2 routine rehearsals per week, and choose an included 5th class like Hip Hop or Musical Theater.
- May participate in community performances.
- Performs in the Big Show (during a Big Show year), and the Ice Cream Concert during non-show years.
- Performs in the Performing Company Showcase at the end of competitive season.
Competition Track:

- Takes 5 to 15 hours of dance a week, depending on age, how many styles of dance they are learning, and how many routines they have learned for competition.

- Performs in the Performing Company Spring Showcase and at the Big Show (during a Big Show year).
All dancers interested in competing must attend the spring auditions. If it is their first time auditioning, we also recommend the Audition Class in March, to do a “practice audition” and learn what a dance audition is like.
Pre-professional Track:
- Is for advanced members who are Juniors and Seniors in High School.
- Provides additional training, but possibly fewer weekend conventions and competition.
- Is featured in an annual professional dance photo shoot, and appears prominently in our social media.
